Spiritual Warfare – A Case Study

We are often told we are in a spiritual battle, a battle for souls.  Yet in our daily lives, with all the responsibilities we have and with all the distractions, we often go through long periods of time without being aware of this spiritual battle.  So how can we relate to it?  What evidence is there, right in front of our noses that illustrates this battle?  Let’s take a look at Oppression vs. Freedom, Totalitarianism vs. Democracy, Mary vs. the Devil.  In a word – Fatima.

Ronald Reagan was fond of saying “How do you tell a communist? Well, it's someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It's someone who understands Marx and Lenin.”  At its heart communism is at war with the dignity of man, with basic freedom, and particularly at war with the Catholic Church and religion in general.  For the communist, the human life, the human soul, if it exists, is worth no more than a bushel of wheat, or a ton of iron ore.  It’s just another raw material in the communist machine.

In the late 1800’s and early 1900’s few understood what a dramatic difference this basic misunderstanding of humanity could cause.  Even today, after 140 million + deaths at the hands of communist leaders, mostly against their own people, few still grasp the importance of “Man created in the image and likeness of God”; Heaven does, Mary does.  Enter Fatima.

We don’t have the time to even scratch the surface of the Fatima miracles, prophecy and related world events.  What I hope to accomplish here is to whet your appetite to look into this further.   On May 5^th 1917, Pope Benedict the V openly appealed to Mary to end World War I, “The War to End all Wars”.  Eight days later, the 1^st apparition of Mary occurred at Fatima, on a Marian Feast Day.  Three secrets were revealed during the Fatima apparitions: I) WWI will end but will be followed by an even deadlier war unless many people pray.  II) Russia will spread its errors throughout the world, raising up wars and persecutions of the Church. Russia will be an instrument of the chastisement in the century ahead.  III) The 3^rd secret was a vision of a bishop in white, who prays for all the faithful.  As the bishop makes his way with great difficulty towards the Cross amid corpses of those who were martyred (Bishops, priests, men & women religious and many lay people) he too falls to the ground, apparently dead, under a hail of gunfire. 

Mary also promised a miracle.  On the last apparition, October 13^th 1917, the Miracle of the Sun occurred.  Eleven days later the Bolshevik Revolution started in Russia, thirteen days after the Miracle of the Sun, the Russian Government fell to Communism.  So many events happened in this story line: The Miracle on the Vistula, the Assassination attempt on John Paul II, Solidarity, the Consecration of Russia to Mary, the fall of the Berlin Wall, the INF Treaty, the fall of Communism is Russia and more.  I’ve attached a time line to this report for you to look over.  It is amazing that many of the most important events in this history occurred on Marian Feast days.  How is that even possible?  I believe that it is not random, and is given to us as a sign.  The people involved at the time couldn’t possibly see the whole picture.  We can, if we would but just look.
